Niagra on Ice... back in April of 1997 I was in Rochester, NY with a friend. We decided to drive 70 miles to Canada & check out Niagra Falls. What we saw was astounding! Both the American & Canadian Falls were frozen! In addition to the falls, the Niagra River was also mostly frozen - with large chunks of ice protruding upwards like mini ice-bergs. Neither of us had a camera so I ran up the strip to a tourist shop & plunked down $15.00 for a cardboard, throw away camera. With a little fence hopping, determination & a cardboard box I was able to get some pretty decent shots! However one must really see this world wonder in person to fully grasp it's sheer magnitude! Hope you all are keeping warm....

Hi Ed! So good to hear from you again. Your photos are astonishing...amazing in fact. What a sight that must have been. This year it's been a much warmer autumn and winter than it was last year, and I remember we'd already had snow by this time last year. It's just wet, windy and miserable right now. I'd love to have seen the Niagara falls like that.
It seems we've all been taking a break from blogging, and I suppose the winter has something to do with it, but I've been terribly busy at work for the last few months and went "off blog" completely for two months. Even now I'm finding it difficult to keep up, but it's lovely to hear from good friends like yourself.
I know a lot of people go to Rachel's blog, but it's not really my area, so I don't know who's around that way. Nevertheless, I'm also looking forward to hearing more of your music, so I guess I'd better check out your IAC site again to see if there's anything new.
I'd also love to see your ten 'never do's' too, so consider yoruself tagged my friend, and now I know you're blogging again, I'll be back more often. Take care Ed, and thanks again for your comment on my blog.
xx Val
Hi Ed!
That must have been an amazing sight, to see those falls frozen. Like someone or something had decided to construct sculpture out of nature itself.
I hope to see the falls one day...
Maria
