One Enchanted Evening... I Went to Rachel Fuller's Barnes & Nobles in store gig (in New York City) on September 11, 2006. What a terrific time we all had! Rachel's performance was superb! She's very comfortable as a performer, interacting with the audience & poking fun at herself. A truly classy & wonderful person to behold. Pete played a song with Rachel which was a real treat for everyone! Afterwards Rachel signed autographs & chatted with us. During this time I met a few fellow bloggers which was very cool! Pete was also very receptive, posing for photos & giving autographs to anyone who asked. I was very fortunate to be able to chat with Pete for quite awhile! I mentioned to Pete that his [guitar playing] has been sounding better than ever. "Who have you been listening to these days Pete?" I asked. "Myself" he replied. "I never really listened to my playing in the past" he then added. As a serious guitarist also, I totally understood what he meant. It's not easy to explain this-yet it makes perfect sense. Pete seems a bit shy at first, yet he opened up & spoke to me. We made eye contact & it was amazing to realize that I was chatting with an artist who enriched my life more than he can ever know. One thing that impressed me in particular were Rachel & Pete's eyes! They both have really beautiful eyes. It's often been said that 'the eyes are the windows to a person's soul.' When I gazed into Rachel & Pete's eyes, I saw two beautiful souls... (Photos courtesy of Sarah B & Alison >Thanks to you both!)

Wow Ed! I'm not surprised you look so starstruck in these photos. What an incredible experience. You're right about Pete's playing. It does seem to be better than ever. I think he's mroe accomplished now than he was as a great young rocker...although he had his amazing creativity then...guess you can't have it all at once, hey? You're right about the eyes too. Both have incredibly blue eyes, and that makes them startling. Great post, and I'm glad to be the first to comment..xx Val

Ed,

Sorry I didn't see you at B&N, though we did get to say hi at Joe's Pub. It was a really great gig. Now it's time for some back to back Who shows at the Garden. Talk to you soon.

Laters,
Jon

Hi Ed,
What amazing pictures you've taken! My personal feeling is that Pete is playing amazingly well for all the reasons you stated, but also because he is a happy person these days. You can just see the love there between them- I saw it in Berlin when I met Rachel and she talked about Pete. They make a great team.

Thanks for saying hi and for sharing your fabulous photos.

Take care,
Anne-Marie

Ed,

Excellent pictures! You look well, and who can blame you, the company you are keeping these days. *wink*

I understand about Jazzblog, I've really not had the time AT ALL. It'd be great if you could get something up there. I'm currently establishing the legal junk for an animation company, and have a couple of nifty projects on the books... can't say TOO much yet, but when I have something, I'll let ya know!

(It's all so very exciting... is it just me, or is this shaping up to be a pretty good year?)

What a great time that was, huh? Best week ever!

Hope you're doing well.

Hi Ed!

I'm several months too late with this. I've said this before on Rachel's, but the American fans are truly lucky to have these intimate shows. The Who shows are obviously outstanding, but Rachel's B&N appearances and the Attic Jams are truly unique.

Great point you made about the eyes. I believe that saying is true, that you CAN see something of a person's true self, their soul, by looking into their eyes. It's not that Rachel's and Pete's eyes are something unforeseen in themselves. Their souls ARE something quite special, and that's what shines in their eyes.
