Glass Deserts Don't Make for Good Play.... This Mid-East Crisis between Fundamentalist Islam & The West is really becoming troubling. My core worry are all those nukes that went unaccounted for after the Soviet Union fell apart. At this point I truly believe that these radicals would not hesitate to use such weapons against Israel. Tel Aviv would be the prime target. Jerusalem would never be considered as Islam 'claims' this city [as does Judiasm & Christianity] There is no question in my mind that this is a 'war by proxy' on both fronts. Oil, Religon, Politics.... What do the children of today have to look forward to tomorrow? When you really get down & analyze the current situation in the Mid-East - one can trace it's roots back to World War ll. We are still feeling the 'ripple-effects' of 60+ years ago! Mind-boggling, absurd, ridiculous, frightening, add infinitum.... add nauseum. What a truly disturbing time we all live in.

Hi Ed,
I agree, everything's a mess right now. I wish this whole thing would blow over, but that may not be the case. Honestly I haven't been paying attention to the news lately, so I have no idea what's going on with Israel. I guess I better catch up.

Hi Ed,
I've often wondered what happened to all those Soviet weapons as well, and I wouldn not be terribly surprised if they had been sold to the highest bidders in very dubious exchanges. The world, in a strange way, was much safer in the old days of the Cold War.

I think you've hit the nailon the head there with your "war by proxy" Ed. I find it very worrying and strongly suspicious that this current conflict started and escalated in the manner it has. Who and what is behind it remains to be seen, but we can be sure it is not in any sense motivated by altruism. When will it ever end, and when will the world movers and shakers stop using the middle east as their chess board. All those poor innocent people on both sides...

Metalchick, Anne-Marie & Val,

Thanks for your comments on this subject which will help to 'define' our times. One way or another.

To quote Val;

"when will the world movers and shakers stop using the middle east as their chess board?"

It is much like a 'game' this Mid-East problem. A game that in the end will have no winners.

Let's hope the 'Illuminati' wakes up before it's too late. Maybe they just don't give a damn.
